Tripowin TP10 Review

Before going deep into the Tripowin TP10 review – 10 BA (Balanced Armature) drivers, 5 at each side, here’s a little bit about the Tripowin brand.

Based on the little information that I’ve, Tripowin was established by a group of experienced engineers who are dedicated to pursuing ultimate sound quality.

There’s not much information that I can gather about Tripowin as there is no official website. Linsoul Audio is the legal distributor for Tripowin products.

UNBOXING TRIPOWIN TP10

TRIPOWIN TP10 comes with a compressed packaging, by all means, it doesn’t mean bad. When I received the package, I’m a little bit confused and questioned whether Linsoul did indeed sent a wrong package.

I feel relieved that it is indeed the correct product Tripowin TP10. Why waste some space if you are able to compress it, it’s good for the customer wallet as well that we don’t have to pay a lot for the packaging those the price can be reduced even more.

Once you see the packaging, you’ll notice that this is a similar packaging with the KZ, I assume they are from the same family.

when you opened the box, you can see a pair of 5 BA drivers nicely displayed. opening the top layer will reveal another layer underneath and you’ll find the rest of the accessories.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

  • Two IEM with 5 Balanced Armature drivers on each side.
  • 3.5 mm two pin Cable with microphone.
  • 3 pairs of silicone tips (L,M and S)
  • User guide
  • Warranty card

TRIPOWIN TP10 ACCESSORIES REVIEW

Black silicon tips with medium hardness. there’s nothing special about this silicon.

It could be better in terms of quality but the tips provide acceptable isolation and can fit both ears pretty well.

The 2pin 3.5mm cable is gold-plated to reduced signal transmission loss and it was designed to improve the transparency and resolution.

Near the two pin connector, the ear hook is pre-shaped with transparent plastic material.

3.5mm jack and plated with gold. the strain relief is sturdy and offers good protection.

The Y split location is too low, there’s no option to manually adjust it as well. on the right side, you’ll find a one-button mic. tested with iPhone + lighting converter and it’s working well

The two pin connector has a mechanism to lock the connection. I like it in terms of durability but too bad, you won’t be able to use the cable outside the TRIPOWIN / KZ family.

The cable has a nice touch on it, the material, it’s light and the brown golden color scheme.

TRIPOWIN TP10 BUILD AND DESIGN

Tripowin TP 10 looks exclusive the combination between the transparent acrylic, grey metal and a hint of gold screw hit the mark.

the metal was made from zinc alloy. Zinc alloy is a very common and popular material for jewelry components due to its versatility and low cost. it offers to some degree a scratch resistant surface.

the nozzle has a gold color with a silver filter and made from metal. the position of the nozzle is a little bit elevated. the overall fit is very good, I do get an above the average isolation and fit.

The acrylic has a hint of grey and transparent, you can visibly see the 5BA and the wires. the acrylic is smooth and thick, I don’t see that the quality is compromised even though it’s a ChiFi.

The acrylic has a hint of grey and transparent, you can visibly see the 5BA and the wires. the acrylic is smooth and thick, I don’t see that the quality is compromised even though it’s a ChiFi.

Overall, the shell is bigger than average IEM. The big shell caters 5 Balanced Armatured drives, so there’s no surprise here.

Above the average isolation and fit with a little bit of disadvantage: the shell is a bit heavy, you can feel it after prolonged use of the IEM.

Tripowin 0.75mm 2 Pins connection is special, it has a raised jack, it’s very secured and improvement from the standard 2 pins connector. KZ ZSN, ZSN Pro, CCA, ZS10 Pro has the same connector.

Any other 2 Pins will works on the driver but sadly the cable will not fit others IEM.

TRIPOWIN TP10 SOUND IMPRESSION

Sound signature overall is bright and analytical. After a while, I?m getting tired because of the sound signature that?s too bright.

Lows

For a balanced armatures Drivers, the Low perform well even though it?s a little bit laid back, sometimes overwhelmed by the mids and upper.

The bass has pretty short decay and fast Attack. The bass is too clean and fast for my preference, it lacks impact in my opinion.

It?s also based on what kind of song that you played, while it lacks and less satisfying while listening to Believer – imagine dragon but when I played Beverly Hills – Harold the Low performing pretty well, you can hear every bass notes and separation quite well.

Mids

In the mid-range, the vocal is forward. It could be just me but playing lucky – Jason Marz and Colbie Caillat, their voices are slightly bumped up.

The representation for instruments and vocal for me doesn?t hit the correct notes as it should. They appear too thin and bright because of the upper mid and treble.

Upper mid to high is pretty aggressive, it could sound harsh for some people.

Highs

Highs are sparky, it?s sharp and bright. Sibilance is there, playing tripowin at a lower volume helps to reduce the sibilance. I always play Beni. Cover the city to check sibilance and reducing the volume will reduce the overall excitement of the song.

A rolled-off should be helpful here to keep the sharpness and keep the response gentle.

Thanks to the 5 BA configuration, tripowin has very good clarity. That?s one of the strengths of Tripowin TP10.

Spatial

Tripowin TP 10 has a wide sound stage especially in the vertical space compared to the horizontal space.

It?s bright and airy, there?s a spacious space for the sound to travel.

Separation and placement are above average if you consider the price of Tripowin TP10. Instrumentals are easy to point because of this, you?ll surprise to hear some other sound that ?wasn?t there? before.

Tripowin TP10 Review Summary

Tripowin TP 10 emphasized too much into technical details. It should?ve focused on the overall balance sound signature.

Build and fit is great but it’s a little bit heavy, it could become uncomfortable after using it for a while. It’s polished in term of design and material, quite impressed with what Tripowin achieved here.

The 2 pins modified connector is pretty brilliant as well since it really makes the 2 pins connection secured but you may not be able to reuse the cable for your other IEM except for the KZ family.

For me personally, the treble is too impactful but If you like bright and analytical earphone / IEM, I?m pretty sure that Tripowin could satisfy especially with the bass that performing much better than the average with balanced armature drivers in the same price bracket. If you don’t like too bright in-ear monitoring, perhaps Tin HiFi T3 at the same price bracket would be a better choice.

You can purchase the Tripowin TP 10 from Linsoul website or Amazon at $69.99 (USD).
